Low-cost airline CEO slams Trump: "Liar"
Ryanair's outgoing CEO Michel O'Leary is not happy with Donald Trump. In an interview with Politico, he gives the US president a hard time, calling him a "liar" and stating that Trump is "historically wrong" about many of the geopolitical challenges of 2026.
O'Leary believes, among other things, that Trump made mistakes by not backing Ukraine more and also imposing high tariffs globally. The Irishman also says that he would have been "a natural Republican" if he were a US citizen, but that he would never have supported a party led by Trump.
- I have neither trust nor confidence in Trump.

Hundreds of pubs close under Starmer: “The nail in the coffin”
In the 18 months since Labour, led by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, came to power in the UK, around 520 pubs have closed. This is according to figures from the VOA agency that The Telegraph has seen.
The closures have, according to one estimate, led to the disappearance of 7,800 jobs and, according to the newspaper, have led to increased pressure on Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves to introduce measures to strengthen the sector. In this autumn’s budget, a tax was increased for pubs, which has brought many to their knees.
Ash Corbett-Collins, chairman of the consumer organisation Camra, states that the tax changes have been a hard blow.
– It’s like the nail in the coffin, he tells the newspaper.
Hundreds of Labour politicians have already been escorted from pubs across the UK in protest.
