Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodríguez says her government is open to diplomatic solutions after the US attack. She also mentions plans for reforms in the country's oil industry, which Washington is demanding influence over.

Rodríguez has a difficult task in navigating between US demands and the opinions within her own government, which is still loyal to ousted President Nicolás Maduro.

In her speech to parliament on Thursday, she criticized the US attack and capture of Maduro.

- It is a stain on relations between the US and Venezuela, said Delcy Rodríguez but added:

- We should not be afraid of diplomacy.

She did not provide further details about planned oil reforms, but assured that revenues from oil sales will benefit the people.
