Trump's new EU threat: Deliver before July 4
President Donald Trump is threatening the EU with new tariffs if the union does not deliver its part of the agreement before July 4 this year, he writes in a post on social media.
Trump is referring to the trade agreement between the EU and the US, in which he says the EU has promised to reduce its tariffs against the country to zero.
If the EU does not deliver its part of the agreement before the set date, the tariffs will be raised "to very high levels," the president threatens.
Trade court shoots down Trump's tariffs
The US Court of International Trade blocks Trump from imposing 10 percent tariffs on imported goods to the US, writes the New York Times.
The jury found that Donald Trump incorrectly invoked an old law when he imposed the tariffs in February.
According to Bloomberg, tariffs are being lifted against two small businesses that sued the state, as well as the state of Washington.
von der Leyen's response: Still fully committed
After Donald Trump's threat to raise tariffs against the EU if the Union does not "deliver its part of the deal", the President of the European Commission now responds that "we remain fully committed".
In an X post, Ursula von der Leyen also writes that good progress is being made to lower tariffs in July
