Tories Cut Emissions Targets: “Will Get All the Gas and Oil Out”

Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party in the UK, wants to maximize the extraction of fossil energy sources in the North Sea if her party wins the next election, British media reports.

– We will get all our gas and oil out of the North Sea, says Badenoch.

The Tory leader has previously claimed that the current line that Britain should reach net zero emissions by 2050 is impossible to achieve and that it is damaging the country’s economy.

Temperatures rose above last year’s record. From June 1 to August 31, South Korea averaged 25.7 degrees Celsius, the highest level since records began in 1973. Last year’s temperature was 25.6 degrees Celsius.

In Japan, it was also the warmest summer since their measurements began in 1898 with "2.3 degrees above the standard temperature," writes the country's meteorological institute.
