The world is reacting to Trump's sharp tariff threat against Europe.
Now EU ambassadors are being called to a lightning meeting on Sunday, according to Reuters information.
Donald Trump wants to impose punitive tariffs on Sweden and several other European countries that oppose his plans to take over Greenland. From February, the tariffs will first be raised to 10 percent and then to 25 percent in June.
As a result, EU ambassadors have been called to an emergency meeting, writes Reuters, citing diplomatic sources. According to the news agency, the meeting will be held on Sunday in Brussels and will deal with Greenland and the tariff threat from Trump.
The EPP, the largest group in the European Parliament, is calling for the EU's trade deal with the US to be halted following the announcement.
"Given Donald Trump's threats regarding Greenland, approval is not possible at this time," writes Manfred Weber, the group's chairman, on the X platform.
