BREAKING—Palace sources in Thailand say the rumours are true that King Vajiralongkorn’s former official consort Sineenat "Koi" Wongvajirapakdi has been forgiven and will join him again at his luxury hotel in Bavaria. 1/5Koi's former name is Niramon Ounprom, นิรมล อุ่นพรม in Thai, and she previously worked as a nurse at the army's Ananda Mahidol Hospital.
She entered royal service to look after Vajiralongkorn's son Prince Dipangkorn, but soon became one of the king's harem. 2/5In an extraordinary ceremony on Vajiralongkorn’s birthday last year, he promoted Koi to the special aristocratic rank เจ้าคุณ, or Noble Royal Consort. Koi is only the second woman in Thailand's history to receive this rank since the Rama V era. 3/5
Inevitably this caused conflict with Queen Suthida, Vajiralongkorn’s fourth wife, who lives in Switzerland.
Just three months later, Koi was stripped of her royal ranks, and sent to jail in Bangkok, after somehow angering Vajiralongkorn. 4/5But now it seems the king has forgiven her. Palace sources say she will be released from prison on Friday and will fly to Germany in early September to rejoin the king’s harem at the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl. 5/5
