The minister warns settlers: Do not take the law into your own hands
Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is warning Jewish settlers in the West Bank to "take the law into their own hands", after the Israeli 14-year-old Binyamin Achimair was found dead, reports Haaretz. In a post on X, Gallant writes that Israeli security forces are hunting the culprits and that "retaliation makes the forces' job more difficult."
Achimair disappeared on Friday morning and was found dead on Saturday. On Friday night, settlers stormed a Palestinian village in search of him. One person was killed and 25 were injured.

Missing 14-year-old on the West Bank found dead
The 14-year-old Israeli boy Binyamin Achimair, who had been missing in the West Bank for just over 24 hours, has been found dead. This is stated by the Israeli military according to the Times of Israel.
Achimair is said to have left home to herd sheep early on Friday morning. A couple of hours later, the sheep are said to have returned without him. On Saturday, his body was found in the area.
Yesterday, Israeli settlers stormed the Palestinian village of al-Mughayyir in an attempt to find Achimair. 25 people were reportedly injured and a Palestinian man was killed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemns in a statement what he describes as the "terrible murder" of the 14-year-old.
- We will take the killers and those who helped them, as we do with anyone who harms Israeli citizens, he says according to the Times of Israel.

Israeli settlers raid West Bank village
A Palestinian man was killed when Israeli settlers stormed a village in the occupied West Bank on Friday night, according to Palestinian authorities. At least 25 people were injured, AP writes.
The settlers reportedly fired shots and set fire to houses in al-Mughayyir while searching for a missing 14-year-old boy.
The violence in the West Bank, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, has intensified since the war in Gaza broke out with the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 last year.
According to Palestinian health authorities, more than 460 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the war in the Gaza Strip broke out last October.
