Once a student activist in the 1970s, Thailand's new Minister of Education is now pressuring universities to crack down on student protests and is defending a corrupt military dictatorship and a cruel, inhumane, and perverse king. Today's student protesters are demanding "dictatorship must fall and democracy must prosper" and "let it end with our generation." May today's protesters keep their courage, impress in their minds this image of how power can corrupt, and never in their lives surrender their ideals and sell their souls in exchange for the allure of power and the fake status of titles.
