USA: Does not withdraw support after Rafah attack
The United States is making no changes to its Israel policy after the attack on the tent camp in Rafah on Sunday, the White House announced according to AFP.
- Nothing in Sunday's or Tuesday's attacks causes us to withdraw military support to Israel, says National Security Adviser John Kirby at a press conference.
At least 45 people died and 250 were injured in Sunday's attack on the Rafah refugee camp. Hamas-controlled authorities state that since then Israel has continued to attack places where internally displaced persons are staying.
On Tuesday, at least 46 were reported killed and 110 injured, according to Al Jazeera. In addition, during the day, Israel drove tanks into central Rafah.
- We do not believe that a major offensive against Rafah is justified, but we have yet to see one, says Kirby

The Israel-Hamas war|The attacks
Israel: Our bombs could not have caused the fire
The two explosive charges of 17 kilograms used in the attack in Rafah could not have caused the fire that broke out in the tent camp, Israel's military claims according to AFP.
- Our ammunition cannot by itself have started a fire of this size, says IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari at a press conference about the Israeli investigation.
According to Hagari, the IDF had "accurate intelligence" before the airstrike, and the target was a building where there were only Hamas members. He raises the theory that a hidden weapons cache was ignited in the attack and caused the fire in the adjacent tent camp.
At least 45 people were killed and hundreds injured in the attack, which was condemned by a wide range of countries.
