Ireland's Deputy Prime Minister Micheal Martin is furious with Israel after a meeting where Israel protested Ireland's decision to recognize Palestine, the Evening Standard reports.
On Wednesday, Ireland, Norway and Spain announced that they recognize Palestine as an independent state. The next day, Israel summoned the ambassadors of the three countries to express their displeasure. There, the diplomats were shown a video that showed Hamas' terrorist act on October 7.
Israeli reporters and photographers had been invited to the meeting and remained in the room when the film was shown.
- It is completely unacceptable and not a dignified treatment of diplomats, says Martin to the newspaper.

Israel attacks Rafah - despite the ICJ's demand to stop
Israeli forces last night carried out bombings in Rafah and Dayr al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, AFP reports. The raids took place just hours after the International Court of Justice ruled that Israel must cease hostilities in Rafah.
Already on Friday afternoon, Israel made it clear that the country has no intention of following the ICJ's decision.
"Israel has not and will not carry out military actions in the Rafah area that create conditions that could cause the annihilation of the Palestinian civilian population, in whole or in part," writes Israel's Security Council according to TT.
The court has no coercive means to make countries comply with its decisions.
