Witnesses: Tanks inside Rafah city center
Several Israeli tanks have entered Rafah's city center, witnesses told Reuters.
The tanks are said to have been sighted near the al-Awda mosque, a central landmark in Rafah, the news agency writes.
Despite massive criticism after the air raid on a tent camp in Rafah on Monday night in which at least 45 Palestinians were killed, Israel continued its attacks on the city overnight into today.

The theory of the Rafah attack: Oil explosion of shrapnel
An exploding fuel tank is suspected to have started the fire among the tents during Israel's airstrikes on the Rafah camp, a US source told ABC News.
According to the source, who has access to Israel's investigation, shrapnel or "something else" must have hit the tank and caused it to explode. The source also points out that the US has no way of confirming the information.
Israel has come under heavy criticism after forces attacked a tent camp in Rafah last night, killing at least 45 people.

Despite the wave of criticism: New attacks are reported tonight
Despite the pressure from the outside world, Israel carried out new attacks during the night against Tal as-Sultan in Rafah, the same area with refugee tents that was attacked on the night of Monday, according to information from Al Jazeera Arabic. The media company states that at least seven Palestinians have been killed.
The al-Hashashin area north of Rafah is also said to have been attacked with several deaths as a result.
Israel has faced a wave of international criticism after its forces on Monday night attacked a tent camp where Palestinians have fled. At least 45 people were killed, among them women and children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel intends to continue the war until it achieves its goals.

10,000 protested in Paris: "One massacre too many"
About 10,000 people demonstrated near the Israeli embassy in Paris on Monday, writes AFP. The protest was held a day after Israel's attack on a tent camp in Rafah in which at least 45 people are said to have been killed.
- It is one massacre too many, says François Rippe from the Franco-Palestinian solidarity group that organized the demonstration.
Israel has received harsh international criticism for the attack. French President Emmanuel Macron made a statement yesterday that the air strike makes him "furious".
However, Rippe believes that the French reaction is insufficient.
- They burn people and we don't even call Israel's ambassador.
