Political situation in the Netherlands
Ex-spy chief proposed to become Dutch prime minister
Former intelligence chief Dick Schoof looks set to become prime minister of the Netherlands, reports AFP.
The coalition of the right-wing parties PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB announced in mid-May that they had agreed to form a government, but that a prime minister was missing. Geert Wilders, whose xenophobic and right-wing populist Freedom Party won the largest in last year's election, was shunned by the other parties.
The coalition has now agreed on Dick Schoof, who is willing to run.
He is politically unaffiliated – half of the ministerial positions in the government go to precisely unaffiliated experts.

Political situation in Georgia
Large demonstrations after the agent law was approved
A sea of protesters, waving Georgian and EU flags, took over the streets of Tbilisi after parliament overruled the president and voted through the much-criticized "agent law". This is reported by AFP.
The opposition left before the vote and the final result was 84-4, something President Salomé Zurabishvili pointed out during a speech to the protesters.
- Do we want a European future or do we want to be Russia's slaves? 84 men can't decide this but together we can, she said, urging protesters to use their anger during the October election

Georgian agent team is hammered through with a wide majority
Georgia's parliament has voted to override the president's veto and pass the controversial "agent law", reports AFP.
President Salomé Zurabishvili vetoed the law on May 18, something a Georgian parliamentary committee rejected on Monday.
The law, which closely resembles a similar law in Russia, means that organizations with more than 20 percent foreign funding must register as "foreign agents."
The law has caused huge protests for several weeks. Critics believe the law limits freedom of expression and harms Georgia's chances of joining the EU.
That the president's veto would be overridden was expected as the proposal was put forward by the country's largest party, Georgian Dream, which has the majority in parliament. The final figures in the vote were 84 votes for the proposal, and only four against. Just before the vote, the opposition left the chamber in protest, hence the numbers.

The election in the USA The electoral movement
Sources: The party is "freaking out" over Biden's numbers
The Democrats are "completely freaking out" over US President Joe Biden's poor poll numbers and limping campaign. That's according to a Democrat close to the White House that Politico spoke to.
- This is not "Oh my God, Mitt Romney can be president." It's "My God, it could be the end of democracy," says the source.
The anxiety within the party before the upcoming battle against Donald Trump has turned into a palpable trepidation, the site writes. And at the moment, Trump has collected more money for his campaign and is better off in all the key states, so-called "swing states".
An adviser tells the site that he shared a list of reasons why Biden might lose the election with campaign donors, and that it is long.
- The list of why we could win is so small that I don't even need to have it on my phone, says the adviser.
