Russia is raising taxes on the rich and corporations
Russia's finance ministry is planning a tax hike for high-income earners and businesses to bring in more money for the war in Ukraine, reports AFP.
The plan is to tax the very richest more and raise corporate tax from 20 to 25 percent. The ministry estimates that it will increase revenues in the treasury by the equivalent of SEK 307 billion a year.
- The goal of the changes is a fair and balanced tax system, says Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

Putin: Small countries in Europe must be on their guard
There will be "serious consequences" if Western countries allow Ukraine to use donated weapons for attacks on Russian soil. Vladimir Putin said that on Tuesday, according to AFP.
- In Europe, especially in small countries, you have to be aware of what you are playing with, Putin said, pointing out that many European countries are densely populated and have small areas.
Even if Ukrainian forces are carrying out the attacks, Russia will hold the countries that donated the weapons responsible, Putin added.
The question of whether Ukraine should be allowed to use donated weapons against targets in Russia has been a hot topic among the country's allies recently. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on the countries to release the restrictions.
For Sweden, there are no such restrictions regarding the Archer weapon system
