The diplomatic row between Argentina's President Javier Milei and Spain's government is worsening, AFP reports.
In his latest outing, Milei called Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez an "arrogant socialist" with an "inferiority complex" and urged him to seek psychological help.
The origin of the row was that Milei called Sánchez's wife "corrupt" during a speech at a far-right congress in Madrid at the weekend, after which Spain recalled its ambassador from Buenos Aires - something it is now announcing is permanent.
Milei says he is returning to Madrid on June 21 to accept an award from a liberal think tank, and that "we will see how deep (Sánchez's) totalitarianism" is.

Spanish anger at Milei - recalls ambassador
Spain recalls its ambassador from Argentina and demands a public apology from Argentine President Javier Milei, reports AFP.
This after Milei called Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's wife corrupt during a visit to Spain. It happened at a large meeting in Madrid organized by the Spanish far-right party Vox, where France's Marine le Pen and Hungary's Viktor Orbán also participated.
- It is unacceptable that a sitting president visiting Spain insults the country and its prime minister, it violates all basic rules of diplomatic behavior, says Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
