Fake video about Modi Minister - opposition arrested
A high-ranking figure in the Indian Congress Party has been arrested on suspicion of tampering with a video about Home Minister Amit Shah.
Arun Reddy, who is in charge of social media in the Congress party, is suspected of having cut and distributed a film in which Amit Shah is alleged to say that affirmative action for poor groups should be scrapped.
In the uncut footage, it appears that Shah is talking about a much more limited group: Muslims in the state of Telangana.
Reddy denies the allegations, and the Congress party accuses the ruling BJP of using the legal system to target political opponents.

The method has stopped cheating for 70 years: "Secret recipe"
Hundreds of millions of Indians walk around with purple ink on their left index finger during April and May. It has become a symbol of Indian democracy, writes CNN in a report.
When an Indian goes to the ballot box, the ink is painted on. When it comes into contact with the sun, it turns purple and stays there for two weeks. It is basically impossible to wash off.
The method has been used successfully for over 70 years to prevent voters from voting more than once. It was necessary in the 1950s, when birth certificates and identity documents were not the practice, and is still an effective and inexpensive method.
The ink contains silver nitrate and is manufactured by a state-owned company.
- I am bound by a duty of confidentiality, says the company's operations manager when CNN asks about the recipe.
Bläcket innehåller silvernitrat och tillverkas av ett statligt företag.
– Jag är bunden av tystnadsplikt, säger företagets verksamhetschef när CNN frågar om receptet.
