The White House: The attack a sign of bigger problems
White House National Security Adviser John Kirby says he is deeply upset that seven foreign aid workers were killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza, the BBC reports.
- I send my deepest condolences to the victims' loved ones, he says.
He demands that Israel investigate the incident "immediately and thoroughly" and hopes that those responsible will be held accountable. He continues his press conference by pointing out that over 200 aid workers have been killed since October 7.
- This incident shows a bigger problem.
The seven aid workers worked for the organization World central kitchen. Israel says they accidentally killed the workers.
