INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL MEDIA: Thai democracy activists Panusaya “Rung” Sithijirawattanakul and Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak are likely to be arrested within the next few hours. 1/5They are being targeted by the Thai regime because they are leading members of a protest movement calling for political change in Thailand including reform of the monarchy and ending military meddling in politics. 2/5King Vajiralongkorn is furious that people have dared to call for reform, and has ordered the government and army to crack down on protesters. 3/ 5Thai media have been told by the palace not to report what is happening, so it’s particularly important for international media to make sure the world knows about these events. 4/5Rung is at JPark Dorm at the Rangsit campus of Thammasat University, and has reported that plainclothes police are at the building. I suggest all media should send journalists there to report on unfolding developments, and to ensure she is not harmed. goo.gl/maps/sU3YxCt9z
