Beijing's deputy UN ambassador Geng Shuang has thanked the world "for its expression of sympathy and concern" after the powerful earthquake in Taiwan.
Shameless, believes Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The department solemnly condemns China's shameless use of the earthquake in Taiwan to conduct cognitive operations internationally," a statement read.
The term "cognitive operations" is often used by Taiwanese authorities to describe Chinese psychological warfare, according to Reuters.
Taiwan's government has previously thanked leaders around the world for their condolences and offers of support.

Efficient system facilitated the operation in Taiwan
Taiwan's is no stranger to earthquakes and over the years has developed a disaster system that proved to be very effective after Wednesday's quake, writes Reuters.
Among other things, coordination between authorities and non-governmental organizations has been worked out, evacuation drills have been introduced at schools and more resistant building materials have been produced.
In addition, an alarm is sent out to the residents' mobile phones in the event of danger.
- Before, everyone did the same thing. But this time we have made sure that all groups have different tasks, says Tai Yun-fa, who runs a Christian local aid organization.

The number of people injured in Wednesday's strong earthquake in Taiwan has now risen to over a thousand, reports Reuters. But the confirmed death toll remains at nine people.
During Thursday, it was also announced that around 50 hotel employees who were missing after the earthquake have now been found.
The quake was Taiwan's strongest in 25 years and has been followed by a flurry of aftershocks, prompting many to spend Thursday night outside or in tents.
- The aftershocks are terrible, they come all the time. I don't dare sleep in the house, says 52-year-old Yu, who Sky News spoke to.
