US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is currently traveling in the Middle East, is once again calling on Hamas to agree to the ceasefire proposal that Israel has put forward, AFP reports.
In connection with a meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Blinken said that the United States is determined to achieve a ceasefire that involves the release of the Israeli hostages.
- The only reason why it would not be achieved is Hamas, said Blinken.
Hamas accepted Israel's proposal last week and has yet to respond.

The White House: The agreement involves a six-week total ceasefire
The White House is calling on Hamas to accept the Israeli cease-fire agreement, saying the agreement would include a 40-day ceasefire, Reuters reports.
- The agreement would result in a complete cessation of fighting for six weeks, says security adviser John Kirby.
He adds that there is no doubt about how serious Israel is with its proposal.
- This is a good agreement and Hamas should accept it.
According to Haaretz, a Hamas source told the Saudi television channel Al Arabyia that part of the terrorist organization's demands are met in the Israeli agreement.
