Police invade UCLA - students behind barricades
Riot police have entered a protest camp and are dismantling barricades on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles. This is reported by several media.
First, over a thousand pro-Palestinian students were ordered to disperse, those who refused to move would be arrested. Despite that, many remained behind the barricades and in the middle of the night, lunchtime Swedish time, the police began their offensive.
Many protesters wear face masks, helmets and goggles to protect themselves from tear gas and pepper spray.
At Columbia University on the US East Coast, the campus is now closed due to the demonstrations. The management has decided to switch to distance learning.

The student protests are growing – and spreading abroad
Widespread protests related to the war in Gaza continue to shake American universities, several media outlets report. At UCLA in Los Angeles, riot police have been called in to clear the university of protesters. Those who do not remove themselves risk arrest.
The decision comes after violence broke out on Wednesday when pro-Palestinian protesters were attacked by pro-Israeli protesters.
At Columbia University in New York, where the first major protests broke out, the university management has decided to close the campus and switch to distance learning for the rest of the semester, writes TT.
At the same time, The Guardian reports that the protests have begun to spread outside the United States as well. Protesters have gathered at at least six British universities demanding that the institutions distance themselves from Israel and companies that sell weapons to the country.
Protests are also taking place at four universities in Australia.

Hamas delegation to hold new talks: "Positive spirit"
A delegation from Hamas will shortly return to Cairo for further negotiations on a cease-fire in Gaza, writes Reuters with reference to a statement from the terrorist-branded group.
In the statement, Hamastoppen Ismail Haniyeh emphasizes that the proposal presented will be "examined in a positive spirit".
The announcement comes the day after a representative of Hamas said on Lebanese television that the group views the proposal from Israel "negatively".

Hamas negative to Israel's ceasefire proposal
It remains unclear how Hamas will respond to the proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza that Israel has put forward. In an interview on Lebanese television, which the New York Times reproduces, Hamas representative Osama Hamdan says that the group's position regarding the draft is currently "negative".
The Hamas press department later clarified that the comment "does not mean that the negotiations have ended" but that the issue is being discussed "back and forth".
The tours around the agreement have been many in recent days, writes TT. According to some reports, an Israeli delegation has seen an adjusted draft in which Hamas has made changes, but this has been denied elsewhere. In addition, there is uncertainty about what mandate the Israeli negotiators actually have.
